EastEnders star Luisa Bradshaw-White has confirmed that the BBC One soap is lining up a new direction for Tina Carter when it returns from its hiatus next month.
Speaking on EastEnders' behind-the-scenes show Secrets from the Square tonight (August 24), Luisa teased a little bit about what's in store for Tina in the future as she confirmed that her character is determined to find love after contracting coronavirus.
"Tina got coronavirus and was living with Ash and Iqra," Luisa told host Stacey Dooley about what her character's been up to in the last few months.
"Tina now comes out thinking, 'I really want a relationship, I want love'. We start from there with Tina."

Luisa appeared on Secrets From the Square alongside co-star Linda Henry, who plays Shirley Carter, as the pair reminisced about the Carters' stint on Albert Square so far.

The actress has played the role of Tina on the soap since 2013, and during the programme Luisa also praised EastEnders' portrayal of Tina's sexuality, saying that it's "really important" for British soaps to represent LGBTQ+ people on screen in a non-sensationalist way.
"I think EastEnders does it really well, but I think it's important that it is the norm and not the doof-doof – it's just there and part of it. It's there," she said.
This week viewers will get a double dose of behind-the-scenes gossip, as Secrets From the Square returns again tomorrow night with stars Lorraine Stanley, Jessica Plummer and Toby-Alexander Smith.
Then, there's not too much longer to wait before all-new episodes of EastEnders hit our screens, as the soap will return after its summer hiatus on Monday, September 7.
