EastEnders star Adrian Edmondson has broken his silence on Daniel Cook's dramatic return to Albert Square.
In last night's (January 1) episode, Jean Slater saw Daniel alive with her own eyes in a flashback to Christmas Day, having previously been under the impression that he was dead.
Of course, viewers already knew that Daniel had faked his death in order to spare Jean the pain of seeing him suffer from his terminal cancer.
Appearing on today's (January 2) Loose Women, Adrian was asked how long he's back on the soap for, the actor explaining: "Well, he's got cancer and he's not having any treatment..."
Asked if there would be a "final resolution this time", the actor added: "I would think so!"
Adrian went on to say that returning to the soap was always in the pipeline, revealing: "It was always the plan, it's just I had a job in the middle that I had to kind of work around."

The star had previously teased a return to the soap, saying last year: "He's definitely not dead, that's all I'm allowed to say.
"It was offered as a story, this is the story of this bloke. And if you cut my bits together, it makes a rather nice story of its own, I think."
