In the wake of an attack on Walford's big cheese Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), a familiar face is about to try and solve the whodunnit mystery.
Cardiff-born actress Hannah Daniel – who plays DCI Morgan, the officer on the scene when Phil is discovered – played junior doctor Leah Faulkner on Holby City in the autumn of last year.
Eagle-eyed audience members may also recognise her from BBC Wales' drama series Keeping Faith, where she played solicitor Cerys Jones, and Hinterland, where she played another copper, DS Sian Owens.
Daniel will join the ranks of police officers who find themselves entangled in the affairs of Walford's dodgiest family.
The Mitchells can also expect more drama from a different source in the coming weeks – in an exclusive interview with Digital Spy, Ben Mitchell actor Max Bowden has hinted at a revisit to his character's complicated relationship with Callum Highway.
The duo have danced on the line of romantic chemistry for a while, and Bowden has promised that things are going to heat up again very soon.

"It's still bubbling and festering underneath. I think right now, Ben's in a very different head space but we've got a wedding to look forward to and it's all going to come to loggerheads very soon."
Discussing fan support for Ben and Callum, Max said: "I'm really glad it's been received so well. The best thing for me is when people are telling us their stories about how they've found it okay to come out themselves – that has been a really beautiful part of it.
"I think what has drawn them to this dynamic is the common ground we're drawing on. It’s been lovely to have such big support from fans of the show."
