Coronation Street’s Mollie Gallagher reveals special connection to Dancing on Ice partner

Coronation Street star Mollie Gallagher has revealed a special connection to her Dancing on Ice partner.

The actress, who plays Nina Lucas on the ITV soap, will be coupled with Sylvain Longchambon on the ice-skating competition, and the pair have a unique bonding factor.

Sylvain, who first appeared on Dancing on Ice in 2011, is married to Mollie’s co-star Samia Longchambon, who has played Maria Connor on Corrie since 2000.

Samia was partnered with Sylvain in the eighth series of Dancing on Ice, with the pair finishing fourth. They became engaged in 2015 before marrying a year later. They have one child, Yves.

Mollie posed for a photo with Sylvain on the Coronation Street set last week, with the pair standing in front of the Rovers Return Inn with the caption: “Next up skating is… Mollie & Sylvain. @dancingonice let’s goooo.”

The lineup for the 15th series of the show is now complete, with the roster including The Only Way Is Essex star Joey Essex, Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton and Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.

Ekin-Su, who revealed she turned down an offer to host the ITV2 dating show, recently spoke about the supposed 'Dancing on Ice curse', which is in reference to several relationships ending during the show.

“If I hear one more thing about this Dancing on Ice curse I will laugh very hard,” she said. “Dear oh me… well at least my man fully supports me. Oooo I'm so scared of the curse. Oh I love it. Me and Davide [Sanclimenti] are laughing at the comments.”

The reality star will be paired with Brendyn Hatfield, a partnership she dubbed the “dream team”. Other pairings include Joey Essex and Vanessa Bauer, while former EastEnders actress Patsy Palmer will skate with stalwart Matt Evers.

Dancing on Ice airs on ITV, and will return to screens in early 2023.
