Coronation Street star Paula Wilcox has opened up about the conclusion to the ongoing Geoff Metcalfe storyline, teasing that it will be a "big climax".
Last night's (July 27) episode of the soap saw viewers learn that Paul's character Elaine is actually Tim Metcalfe's long-lost mother, who previously went by the name Philippa.
She was previously abused by Geoff, and while she managed to escape him she had to leave her son behind.
Appearing on today's Lorraine, Paula spoke a bit about the conclusion to the storyline, suggesting that Elaine will be a key part of it.
"I think so, yeah," she said of her character's involvement. "There is a big climax coming, for sure. And I don't think anybody will see that quite coming."
During the chat, Paul also opened up about previously appearing on Coronation Street back in the late 1960s as character Janice Langton.

"I was 18, I was playing a 15-year-old but I was 18, I could obviously remember what it was like to be 15 and a rebel," she recalled. "I think I was called Janice, she had escaped from a borstal of some sort.
"She was on the run and she comes to find her brother Ray to get some money out of him and then continue on her merry way, and she disappeared a couple of weeks later. So I was in it for three weeks.
"It was just about one of the first jobs I ever did, so it was really thrilling, actually. The whole thing was gob-smacking."
Coronation Street currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV.
