Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn has landed her first TV role since her exit as Sinead Tinker, following the soap's devastating cervical cancer storyline.
Katie, whose heartbreaking final scenes aired last October, has joined the cast of BBC One drama The Syndicate, which is set to return for a fourth series after a five-year break.
The actress – who picked up the Best Serial Drama Performance award at January's National Television Awards for her portrayal of Sinead – got the part after Syndicate writer Kay Mellor saw her work on Coronation Street.
Revealing a departure from Sinead with her new "rough around the edges" role, Katie told OK! Magazine that she was initially "so nervous" to join the series (via The Mirror).
"I've always wanted to work with [Kay Mellor]," she said. "I was so nervous because I'd only played Sinead for seven years, but Kay was lovely and put me at ease."

The actress added that she "loves" that her character in The Syndicate is "completely different to Sinead".
"She's a single mum and she hasn't got a lot of money," she added.
The Syndicate, which has previously starred Sir Lenny Henry, Alison Steadman, and Timothy Spall, tells the story of members of a betting syndicate as they win the lottery.
Each series follows a different syndicate as they take in their win and navigate the inevitable politics that come with a big money win.
Coronation Street currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV.
