Coronation Street star Joe Duttine has opened up about the changes the ITV soap has had to make to certain storylines due to the real-world coronavirus pandemic.
The actor, who plays Tim Metcalfe on the show, has hinted that his character tying the knot with Sally (Sally Dynevor) has been one of the storylines affected by the new protocols and safety measures, which include social-distanced filming restrictions and fewer cast members being allowed on set.

"They've had to rewrite a lot as we're not having more than two or three people in a scene," Joe told TV Times magazine in a new interview.
"Tim and Sally were supposed to be getting married, but with COVID-19 it will have to be a different type of wedding. It's a shame Tim's horse has gone – I really fancied him riding into the reception on it!"
Elsewhere during the chat, Duttine talked about how he's been spending his time since production on Coronation Street was halted back in March.

"I've been walking a lot, cleaning bird poo off my car a lot, cooking and trying to be a bit healthy," he said, adding that he's also kept himself busy by finding fun things to do with his children and co-star fiancée Sally Carman.

"Sally and I spent a lot of time in the Yorkshire Dales, but now we're back in Manchester, which is difficult for me. I'm a country boy," he added.
Coronation Street currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV.
