One of the most controversial storylines in the history of Radio 4 show The Archers may be about to go even further.
Character Rob Titchener has been at the centre of a long-running domestic abuse story with his wife Helen.

When asked if Rob might end up a killer, editor of the radio drama Sean O'Connor told Woman's Hour: "Is Rob capable of murder? Maybe he is capable of murder."
O'Connor, who will soon replace Dominic Treadwell-Collins as executive producer of EastEnders, added: "I think it is absolutely the sort of thing that The Archers should be doing.
"The Archers is not a chocolate box storyline set in the 1950s. We've been doing hard-hitting storylines since the early times of the show."
However, some fans have complained that the once "everyday story of country folk" has become "EastEnders in a field".
Two years ago, BBC radio chief Helen Boaden said that she had "banned" a murder storyline as it was too "far-fetched".
Following its domestic abuse storyline, fans of The Archers have raised nearly £80,000 for domestic violence charity Refuge.
Chief executive of Refuge Sandra Horley told Woman's Hour: "There is this feeling that this sort of thing shouldn't be happening in The Archers. But it happens in real life.
"Thousands and thousands of women from all classes, all races, all backgrounds, experience domestic violence. What's so fantastic about The Archers is that it's shining a light on a really important social problem and bringing it into our living rooms."
