It's been just under two months since the upcoming Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play was revealed to be a sequel to the books - shortly followed by Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe ruling himself out of playing the title role.
The question of who will take up the title of the Boy Who Lived - or man, rather, as the play is set 19 years after the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - has been at the forefront of Potterheads' minds ever since, but now the three main roles have been cast and we can welcome our new leads.
Jamie Parker, Paul Thornley and Noma Dumezweni will portray Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger respectively as the characters are aged up into their 30s for the new play.
JK Rowling said of the news: "I'm so excited with the choice of casting for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. I can't wait to see Jamie, Noma and Paul bring the adult Harry, Hermione and Ron to life on stage next summer."
Parker has previously starred in several theatrical productions, including The History Boys and, more recently, High Society at The Old Vic Theatre in London. He also had a role in BBC One's acclaimed series Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell earlier this year.
Thornley picks up the role from Rupert Grint, and has appeared in small roles in a number of films, including Les Misérables and Minions, while Dumezweni is an Olivier Award-winning actress who has featured in EastEnders and Shameless, and played Captain Erisa Magambo in two episodes of Doctor Who.
