Following the death of Victoria Wood yesterday (April 20), Celia Imrie has paid tribute to her close friend and acting colleague.

Releasing a statement while filming overseas, Imrie said: "Victoria was a dear dear pal. I am beyond sad and shocked as I had no idea she was ill.
"Vic was always so generous giving away her genius lines to us all. Her writing and her music brought such joy and laughter to the world.
"I have so much to thank her for and feel mighty proud to have been in her gang."
Jennifer Saunders, Ricky Gervais and Dawn French have led a host of warm tributes to Wood, who died at the age of 62.
Long-time comedy partner Julie Walters has also shared her heartbreak following the death of her beloved friend.
