A new dawn of breakfast telly was born this week in the shape of the much-heralded Good Morning Britain. With sexy Strictly star, Susanna Reid at the forefront of the new four-strong presenting team, the show certainly made for an appointment to view on its inaugural outing.
Now I may be biased, coming from this particular telly stable, but I can genuinely say I really enjoyed tuning into ITV first thing Monday morning to see a bright, smiley, busy TV scene staring right back at me.
Good to see my GMTV pal Ben Shephard back in the driving seat, one of the nicest and most genuine chaps you could meet, who took to his rightfully restored role as breakfast telly hottie like he'd never been away.
Credit as well to Charlotte Hawkins and Sean Fletcher, who were so instantly likeable we could forgive any first-day nerves and the slightly overly chirpy banter. Some have criticised the busy graphics and the fast-paced style, but as someone who has survived (just!) through several reincarnations of ITV's breakfast shows, I say isn't it time we just stopped the incessant criticising and just let the team find their feet before we write it off?
I, for one, loved it. The pace and vibrancy is personally just what I need for a 15-minute one-stop shop on what the day has in store, and with one of the hardest-working teams I know, go on and reserve judgement just a little bit longer and give this new breakfast offering a chance.
Unfortunately for Simon Cowell's theatre attempt, musical I Can't Sing! has already had its chance and blown it. The X Factor-style musical comedy has sadly failed to make the noise it had hoped for, despite pulling out all the stops for the star-studded premiere a few months ago.

A rather embarrassing £4m hole in the pocket for the music supremo who, along with the show's producers, has been advised to cut his losses and close the show after a mere few months in London's West End.
To be fair to all involved, as one of the largest and most prestigious, the London Palladium is an enormous theatre to fill. But the show is yet to enjoy one sold-out night since opening. That, my friends, I don't need to tell you is not a good thing for a new and very expensive show.
The musical, which stars Nigel Harman in the lead role, is due to close in a week (May 10), so I sincerely hope for the cast and all involved they manage to pack those houses out for the final outing and go out on a high.
For those that enjoy the odd theatre trip, an exciting new musical which has been wowing the theatre bigwigs in workshops is set to come to Theatreland at some point in the near future. Footie movie Bend It Like Beckham has had a musical makeover, and my spies tell me that it looks to be an absolute corker.
Think the 'new' Billy Elliot, with some of the biggest movers and shakers in the theatre world 'bending' over backwards (see what I did there!) to snap it up. Watch this space.
My Splash! pal - Boyzone's Keith Duffy - made his own noise this week as he made his acting stage debut in A Handful of Stars at Battersea's Olivier Award-winning Theatre503.
Playing an Irish boxer, it's easy to see why he was cast in this role. He looked and sounded the part of course. However, he also demonstrated a phenomenal acting talent alongside the stellar cast.
I'm thrilled the play has been praised by critics, and I'd strongly suggest you book now to see this modern classic before it finishes in three weeks. Oh, and the theatre only seats 60 at a time, so be prepared to have a bit of Duffy smoulder up close!
And with our summer holidays starting to edge ever closer (woohoo!), many of us are thinking about that beach bod. Celebs including Alesha Dixon and Beverley Knight rocked up to the premiere of 'super juicer' Jason Vale's groundbreaking new documentary Super Juice Me! in London's Leicester Square.
Fans of the juice detox and way of living also include Katie Price, who has often praised the work of Vale and his yummy juice concoctions. With my own holiday in planning, maybe I'll see what all the fuss is about and give one of the energy smoothies a go myself.
