Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown is branching out in a new career direction with the release of her new novel, Nineteen Steps.

The historical novel, which is the 19-year-old actress's first book, will be released next month and is loosely based on Millie's incredible family history.

Taking place at the height of World War II in 1942, Nineteen Steps tells the story of a spirited 18-year-old girl named Nellie Morris who lives in the East End.

As Nellie grapples with the potential of defying her family's expectations, a tragedy during an air raid completely turns her entire world upside down.

Nineteen Steps will officially release on September 12, 2023, and is available for hardcover pre-orders at Waterstones for £14.99 (marked down 12%) or just £8.49 from Amazon.

There are also Kindle and Audiobook options available through Amazon and its affiliate Audible, both scheduled to release on September 12 as well.

This career pivot comes at a time when Millie is preparing to close a major chapter of her life with the final season of Netflix's Stranger Things, coming soon.

She is also planning to get married to longtime partner Jake Bongiovi, and recently revealed that he proposed to her using a ring belonging to her own mother.

"I've always loved that ring, it's always stuck out to me, so she gave it to Jake," Millie told The Times. "They were in cahoots about the whole proposal. I love that I can always keep a piece of my mum with me."

Stranger Things seasons 1-4 are now streaming worldwide on Netflix.
