Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner welcomes second child

Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner has welcomed her second child with singer, Joe Jonas.

The duo's representatives confirmed the news to PEOPLE, saying: "Joe and Sophie are happy to announce the arrival of their baby girl."

This is the couple's second daughter, they also share two-year-old Willa together, who was born back in July 2020.

Turner had previously confirmed the news of her pregnancy in May, during a magazine cover for ELLE UK.

During the interview, the actress had admitted that motherhood was "what life is about" for her at the moment and "raising the next generation" was important.

"The greatest thing in life is seeing my daughter go from strength to strength," she added. "We're so excited to be expanding the family. It's the best blessing ever."

Their second newborn has also arrived only a few months after Nick Jonas, Joe's brother and his The Jonas Brothers bandmate, welcomed his first daughter with his wife, actress Priyanka Chopra. The pair had welcomed their baby via a surrogate in January 2022.

Prior to becoming parents, Jonas and Turner had had two marriages to solidify their union – one in Las Vegas following the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards, and a follow-up lavish wedding in France a month later.

Turner rose to fame playing the role of noblewoman Sansa Stark in the HBO Emmy award-winning fantasy show, Game of Thrones, for eight seasons.

She recently also appeared on the HBO limited series The Staircase alongside Colin Firth and Toni Collette. The show explored the real-life story of Michael Peterson, who had been accused of murdering his wife, Kathleen Peterson.

Game of Thrones seasons 1-8 are available on DVD and Blu-ray. Spin-off House of the Dragon is now filming and will premiere on August 21, 2022 in the UK.
