Edith Bowman has brushed off the suggestion that Radio X is sexist and revealed that she was approached to be a DJ on the station.
The rebranded Xfm lineup is led by Chris Moyles, Vernon Kay, Johnny Vaughan and Ricky Wilson and on its relaunch touted itself as "the first truly male-focused, fully national music and entertainment brand".
"Listen, they approached me about doing it," Edith told Digital Spy
"I couldn't commit to it to be honest. I didn't really know where I wanted to go radiowise.
"I just started doing my Quay Sessions show on the BBC and I'm absolutely loving doing that."
"I've got my 6 Music stuff that I'm doing about film, so it wasn't the right time really."

Of the idea that the station is sexist, she added: "I've got experience of that being absolutely ridiculous.
"And I'm sure that over time as well we'll see more women being part of that schedule.
"I think that was something that was said in a meeting as a bit of a joke and taken out of context because I don't think anybody's got that mentality.
"I met them and there wasn't that feeling obviously, because I'm a girl!"
Edith also told us that she is happy to have Moyles back on the radio following his long break after leaving the BBC.
"I sent him a text the night before he started saying 'Good luck'," she said.
"Then on Friday I said 'I just wanted to say I'm loving you being back on the radio, it's ace. Welcome back'.
"I had him on this morning, and he's pretty much doing the exact same show that he was doing on Radio 1 but it was really successful and he's really good at what he does.
"There's a market for that. There's a market for him. The more competition that's out there the better - it keeps everybody on their toes."
Asked about her top musical city, Edith - who has curated a playlist of Sounds of the Neighbourhood for Hotel Indigo - said: "Romantically I would say Glasgow because of that proud Scot in me, but in reality London's shown be the most amazing journey musicwise in terms of what I've been able to see.
"That's not to say that necessarily about the music that's come from London, it's more about my experience of music in London, being able to see gigs.
"Coming from a little fishing village I didn't have the chance to see all my favourite bands live because the nearest venue was an hour away and my mum and dad worked every night, it was impossible.
"For me, being able to walk to a handful of venues and see anyone I want to is just wonderful."
