4. SPEAKING OF OLLY ALEXANDER…
We spied him getting all the way down to Fetty Wap's 'Trap Queen' at the Universal afterparty at 180 Strand, with some spectacular slut dropping. (He was also very polite to a fan begging him to record a video message for his boyfriend.)
5. THOSE BALLGOWNS ARE VERY HARD TO CONTROL
We spied a very polite Charli XCX heading to the loos - with a friend holding her dress off the floor for her. But Ant McPartlin seems to have realised the downside of wearing a strapless ballgown - waiting off camera, he had a towel wrapped around his shoulders to keep him warm. Speaking of wardrobe, those statue dancers at the opening of the show left very little to the imagination with their nude leotards... we almost choked on our orange juice.
6. IT'S PROBABLY JUST AS WELL THAT EAGLES OF DEATH METAL DIDN'T WIN INTERNATIONAL GROUP
Because when the category was being announced, band member Jesse Hughes was out of the arena on one of his many ciggie breaks. Now that would have been awkward.
7. BOYBANDS COLLIDED
Westlife star Nicky Byrne was spied taking a photo of his wife with One Direction's Louis Tomlinson.
8. THE BRITS REALLY WANTED EVERYONE TO SOBER UP
At about 9.30pm the champagne dried up - and instead tables were stocked with bottles of water and orange juice. But Caroline Flack was keeping the party going - we spied her drinking gin and tonic from a can while waiting for her car outside (and chatting to Matt Richardson, David Gandy and model Lucky Blue Smith, who was hassled for selfies before getting into a huge Rolls Royce).
9. WE OVERHEARD SOME STRANGE CONVERSATIONS
Blind item alert! We heard one famous model and TV presenter - and another model's sister - chatting to two girls about everything from corned beef to their love of James Bay ("We made him take his hat off - he does have hair underneath"). And then one of them uttered the phrase: "I just wanted to lick Chris Martin's face."
10. LOVE STILL EXISTS AND WE'RE VERY HAPPY ABOUT IT
In 'couples we're so happy are still together' news, Emma Bunton and Jade Jones sweetly held hands as they made for their car at the end of the night. We also heard Louise Redknapp excitedly calling: "Come on Redknapp" at her husband Jamie - and then having a great time at the Universal afterparty, flashing lovely smiles at everyone who passed.
11. THE FOOD WAS FLOWING AT THE UNIVERSAL AFTERPARTY - AND SO WERE THE TUNES
Pie, mac and cheese, burgers, sausage rolls, cinnamon doughnuts and gluten free brownies were all on offer at the Universal bash... but the main attraction was a heaving cheeseboard, staffed by waiters offering guests like James Bay and Ellie Goulding a choice of a multitude of crackers. And everyone was getting down on the dancefloor to tunes mixed first by Reggie Yates, and then by Nick Grimshaw and Annie Mac (who were also joined by Marvin Humes for a while). There was a lot of Kanye, Rihanna and Drake being played (Grimmy started his set by getting everyone bouncing to 'Stronger').
12. ALEXA CHUNG WAS THE CENTRE OF ATTENTION…
At one point, Grimmy urged the crowd to part to create a catwalk - which Alexa Chung marched down (to Madonna's 'Vogue', obviously). Annie Mac also strutted her stuff in front of the crowd.
13. TAME IMPALA WERE VERY NORMAL AND GRACIOUS
We spotted the winners rolling ciggies in the 180 Strand smoking area and being very kind to a fan who gushed about how much they like them.
14. BROOKLYN BECKHAM WAS SURROUNDED BY WOMEN
Brooklyn was a very popular fellow at the Universal party and gamely posed for selfies with his adoring fans. We spotted Tallia Storm having a natter with him and he seemed to be swapping stories with Anaïs Gallagher. Hmm, two 16-year-olds who have grown up in the spotlight with hugely famous parents... Wonder what they were talking about?
15. DRAKE GOES TO AN AFTERPARTY, GETS SIGNED
All in a day's, er, Work for Drake. Following his saucy on-stage performance with Rihanna, he headed to the Boy Better Know party where he made a surprise appearance with Section Boyz and - according to his Insta - signed to their label. Not bad for a night out…
