It's good new/slightly passive aggressive news time, guys!

Good news: MIA and Zayn Malik have dropped their collaboration 'Freedun' - which is definitely NOT a typo - and it's pretty darn good.

Speaking to Annie Mac on Radio 1, she said: "I handed the album in and I left. And he sort of called up and kinda got on the song as I was heading to the airport."

Annie asked if they worked together on the track, but MIA, whose real name is Mathangi "Maya" Arulpragasam, confirmed it was a "virtual situation", as she was already abroad in India.

But it's not all bad, she did think the former One Directioner is kinda cool, explaining: "I don't know, it just kind of happened. He's from Bradford, I always thought that's pretty cool."

See, that's good eh?

"I sort of made the song a long time ago and it was always too mainstream sounding for me.

"It just seems perfect to have - if I was going to have a collaboration, and have someone like Zayn, this is, like, the perfect song."

MIA has always been known for being outspoken, but we'd be surprised if "being too mainstream" was a concern for someone who dressed as a cheerleader and sang 'Give Me All Your Luvin' with Nicki Minaj and Madonna at the Super Bowl.

Although she did manage to rock n' roll up the whole situation by giving everyone the finger, much to the alarm of middle America.

Zayn seems to be stoked about the track, as he's already excitedly Instagrammed the cover in his token black and white style and tagged in MIA.

'Freedun' will appear on MIA's fifth album, which is cleverly called AIM, due out on September 9.
