Baywatch's Super Bowl trailer is here – and as you'd expect, there are tanned bodies, bulging muscles and massive waves galore in this raunchy reinvention of David Hasselhoff's campy '90s beach drama.

Dwayne Johnson lays the smackdown as veteran lifeguard Mitch Buchannon, whose ocean supremacy is threatened when hot shot newbie Matt Brody (Zac Efron) turns up, fancy Speedos and all, to revamp the beach rescue squad.

The Baywatch movie recasts some of your favourite original series characters with a new attitude – including Kelly Rohrbach stepping into Pamela Anderson's red bikini as CJ Parker, and Alexandra Daddario turning up the heat as the new Summer Quinn.

But don't worry – The Hoff and Pammy will be dropping in to lend a little old school magic to this reinvention of Baywatch.

Bringing this ragtag beach crew together is a threat from the devious Victoria Leeds, played by Bollywood superstar and Quantico actress Priyanka Chopra.

When Priyanka chatted with Digital Spy late last year, she dropped a few hints about what her villainous character is up to.

"Literally, slow motion running is what I do for a living, and I'm so good at it now!"

Baywatch will open in cinemas on May 19.
