After what feels like forever, the first trailer for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them has arrived - and Harry Potter fans will be very pleased indeed.

The 1920s-set spin-off sees Eddie Redmayne's British wizard Newt Scamander getting into trouble over the pond and... well, we'll let the synopsis do the talking:

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures.  

"Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt's fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds."

In short, there are going to be some Fantastic Beasts, and Scamander is going to have to find them.

Harry Potter veteran David Yates is directing this one, overseeing the talents of Katherine Waterston as Tina, Dan Fogler as Jacob, Alison Sudol as Tina's sister, Queenie, Ezra Miller as Credence and Samantha Morton as Mary Lou.

That's not forgetting Jon Voight as Henry Shaw, Sr, Ron Perlman as Gnarlack, Carmen Ejogo as Seraphina, Jenn Murray as Chastity, Faith Wood-Blagrove as Modesty and Colin Farrell as Percival Graves.

Who might all these characters be? All will be revealed... eventually. We hope, at any rate. 

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will arrive in cinemas on November 18, 2016.
