Fantastic Beasts actor Eddie Redmayne has revealed his most embarrassing moment on a film set — the Erumpent mating dance from the spin-off series' first movie.
In a new piece by Vogue, multiple actors spoke about their time in the industry and discussed some notable moments from their careers. Redmayne, who stars in The Good Nurse, spoke about his most embarrassing time on set.

"In the Fantastic Beasts movie, doing the Erumpent mating dance. It was humiliating anyway, but I managed to rip my trousers. My arse was on show for everyone to see on a night shoot in the middle of Watford," Redmayne said.
Redmayne plays Newt Scamander in the Fantastic Beasts movies. In the Wizarding World universe, Newt is a famed magizoologist who travels the globe documenting magical creatures.
In the first movie, Newt comes across a creature known as an Erumpent in New York. In order to calm it down, Newt performs a mating dance, which Redmayne had to rehearse and learn in real life.

Those movies feature plenty of magical fiction but Redmayne rose to prominence by winning an Oscar for playing Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything. He plays another real-life person — serial killer Charles Cullen — in The Good Nurse.
Redmayne spoke to Digital Spy about this role at the tail end of last year.
"What I love about playing real people is you have a place to start. You have the title for your essay. You know where you are and the certain technical things that you have, and you know where to go to start doing your research or prep," Redmayne said.
"When you're playing non-real people, you have to kind of create that yourself."
