The Luckiest Man in America, the new film starring Walton Goggins and Paul Walter Hauser, has released its first trailer.

The fact-based drama tells the story of Michael Larson (Hauser), an ice-cream truck driver who, in 1984, won a record-breaking haul of over $110,000 on game show Press Your Luck, only to be subsequently accused of cheating.

Ahead of its theatrical release next month, the first trailer for the film has been released, showcasing Larson’s success on the show opposite host Peter Tomarken (Goggins). As his winnings increase, he starts to come under pressure from producers and studio executives.

“[I’m] really terrified of snakes. I had the snake handler right off camera because when I picked up the snake for the very first time, I started crying. Like uncontrollably,” he recalled. “They walked you through the entire experience… and they're like, 'Don't touch this cage because this snake will kill you.’

“I started to pull the green one and as I was pulling the snake out he didn't want to come. So the snake turns around and he bit me. I haven't told that story to anybody!... I did go to the hospital, and I got a [tetanus] shot.”

The Luckiest Man in America is released on April 4 in the US; there is currently no UK release date.
