The mysterious figure then turns around to reveal none other than X-23, who tells him: "You were always the wrong guy... until you weren't."

Opening up about keeping her Deadpool appearance secret, Keen – who recently appeared in The Acolyte – told Entertainment Weekly: "I had a great time keeping it secret. I had to do a bunch of press for a job that I just finished. I got asked in every interview, and I just got to lie, which was really funny."

Opening up further about the Laura we meet in Deadpool & Wolverine as compared to Logan, Keen explained that her character now understands Wolverine's parental rage more.

"It was wonderful to get to come back to that and explore that as a grown-up, now understanding parental rage so much more and bringing that to the table for her," she said.

"I found that Laura in Logan stumbled into having a dad and then having lost her dad. We find her again really knowing how to appreciate — and with this kind of wiseness to her — how much her father means to her."

As well as X-23, Deadpool & Wolverine will see cameos from Sabretooth (Tyler Mane), Pyro (Aaron Stanford) and Colossus (Stefan Kapičić).

The movie, which is set for release next week, follows the two titular characters as they team up to take on the villainous Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin).

Deadpool & Wolverine is released in UK cinemas on July 25 and in US cinemas on July 26.
