Directed by The Maze Runner trilogy's Wes Ball, the new movie is set "several generations" after the events of War for the Planet of the Apes when apes are the dominant species and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows.
However, as a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, young ape Noa (Owen Teague) undertakes a journey that will cause him to question all he has known about his past, and lead him to make a choice that defines the future.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will arrive in cinemas on May 24, 2024.
The new movie also stars The Witcher star Freya Allan, Locke & Key's Kevin Durand, Peter Macon, William H Macy and Agents of SHIELD star Dichen Lachman, who was most recently seen in Severance.
"Planet of the Apes is one of the most iconic and storied science fiction franchises in film history, as well as being an indelible part of our studio’s legacy," said Steve Asbell, President of 20th Century Studios, when the movie started filming in September 2022.
