Stranger Things Eleven has taken down a Shadow Monster before, but she doesn’t look ready for the sheer carnage unleashed by the creatures of Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

The science fiction sequel has released a new trailer that offers a clearer look than ever before at classic movie monsters Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah as they get a CGI makeover for the 21st Century.

King of the Monsters pits them all against Godzilla in a battle for supremacy when the awakening of yet more of these ancient Titans forces man to examine whether they will be friend or foe.

Millie Bobby Brown is trapped in the middle of the battle, and her reaction is pretty relatable as she gulps: “Oh shit!”

Over the summer, director Michael Dougherty promised that there will be “lots more screen-time” for Godzilla in the sequel than he got in the original, in addition to teasing some hidden monsters not revealed in the trailers.

“You have four monsters, you can't hide four more monsters,” he promised. “Actually, there's more than four, I forgot. Now that's a party!"

One of those monsters being kept back might be Kong, since it has also been confirmed that there will be a reference to Skull Island ahead of a full-on crossover movie between the two Titans in two years.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters, which will also star Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga and returning favourite Ken Watanabe, will be released on May 31, 2019 in the US and the UK.
