Naomie Harris's Miss Moneypenny will reportedly feature in an expanded "sidekick" role in Bond 24.
Harris's field agent Eve was revealed as M's secretary at the close of Skyfall, but the character is expected to step out from behind her MI6 desk and play a more active role in the Sam Mendes-directed sequel.
According to the Daily Mail, Mendes and producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson want Moneypenny to be "a sidekick to James, and for her to get out and harm the bad guys".
Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes and Ben Whishaw will all return for the spy adventure, with Skyfall's John Logan back to pen the screenplay.
The next Bond outing will be released in the UK on October 23, 2015 and in the US on November 6, 2015.
