Warning: Contains MAJOR spoilers for Ant-Man and The Wasp.

The latest Marvel Cinematic Universe instalment Ant-Man and The Wasp is out in the US, and you are correct in guessing that it comes with the traditional brace of mid-credits and post-credits scenes.

But how many are there? And do they connect the film to the goings-on in Avengers: Infinity War and the wider MCU?

Peyton Reed's Ant-Man sequel features two extra scenes, which are the last to be set in the MCU in 2018.

Mid-credits scene: Disaster in the Quantum Realm

The mid-credits scene sees Paul Rudd's Scott Lang/Ant-Man return to the Quantum Realm to find special particles to heal Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), while Hope van Dyne/The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) remain in contact with him from Earth.

As he leaves, Janet warns him to avoid any 'Time Vortex' he encounters.

What to Read Next

When he's ready, Scott tells them to pull him out... but there's no answer.

The camera switches back to Earth, where we see floating ash where the three heroes had been. They've been caught up in Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet attack and erased!

Ant-Man is apparently trapped in the Quantum Realm without help. Could a Time Vortex solve his problem – and perhaps link him to the '90s-set Captain Marvel or Avengers 4, which is theorised to feature a time-travel plot? We'll have to wait until 2019 to find out.

Post-credits scene: House arrest

The final scene cuts back to Scott's home, where Hope set a giant ant to fool the ankle monitor that was keeping Ant-Man under house arrest.

The neighbourhood has clearly been affected by the Infinity Snap, with the TV broadcasting a state of emergency – but the ant is still there and getting plenty of practice on Scott's drum kit.

Ant-Man and The Wasp is out now in the UK and US. Book tickets here.
