Paul Rudd and Jack Black's reboot of '90s cult classic Anaconda has received an exciting update.
Sony Pictures has announced that the highly-anticipated reimagining will be released in cinemas on December 25, 2025 – the perfect way to mark the festive season.
Rudd and Black confirmed the news in a video that was posted to the studio's official YouTube account on Friday (December 20).
"There's gonna be a big f***ing snake, and it's gonna rip," Black teased of the film's reptile-based plot.

"You wanna get scared? You wanna laugh? You wanna celebrate with your friends? Or maybe you're alone and sad and have nobody, but just wanna forget about that?" Rudd added.

The upcoming reboot is reportedly focused on a group of friends who are facing mid-life crises, so decide to remake their favourite movie from their youth – though things don't go to plan.
Details of Rudd and Black's roles are yet to be revealed, but two of the main characters are said to be a director moonlighting as a wedding videographer, and an actor who is best known for their stint on a cop show.
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent writers Tom Gormican and Kevin Etten have penned the script, while Gormican is also set to direct. Road House star Daniela Melchior joined the cast in October.

The original film, which was released in 1997, followed a National Geographic film crew that was taken hostage by an unhinged hunter, who forced them on a quest to capture the world's largest and deadliest snake.
Its cast included Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Jon Voight, Eric Stoltz, Jonathan Hyde, Owen Wilson and Frank Welker, who notably voiced the anaconda.
Anaconda was a surprise hit at the box office following its release, earning $145 million globally.
The film's success later resulted in four sequels being released, including Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid, Anaconda 3: Offspring, Anacondas: Trail of Blood and Lake Placid vs. Anaconda.
Anaconda will be released in cinemas on December 25, 2025.
