Remember when trailers used to give away the entirety of a film? Looking at you, Terminator: Genisys.
Nowadays, we're getting shots and scenes from trailers that don't appear in the final product. Sometimes these are down to reshoots or altering visual effects, but Avengers: Infinity War is something different.

As we saw in the trailers, the Hulk fights alongside the other heroes during the Battle of Wakanda, which is not what happens in the film due to Bruce Banner being unable to transform.
Speaking at a Q&A at George Washington University (via Fan Sided), the Russo brothers admitted the trailer was a classic case of misdirection. Joe Russo admitted that Hulk was digitally inserted into the trailer just to disguise the transformation plot point.
What to Read Next
It's similar to what happened with Thor: Ragnarok, where that shot of Thor going full God of Thunder had him with two eyes in the trailer, but obviously he has an eyepatch in the film (that returns in Avengers).
Infinity War's screenwriters recently teased that the currently untitled Avengers 4 won't be what you expect, so should we continue to be wary of the marketing?
