We've finally got some more detail on the upcoming Lego Movie sequel, and don't worry – everything is still going to be pretty damn awesome.
Especially now that producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are gearing up for a complete rewrite. (Han Solo who?)
Chatting to Collider, producers Dan Lin and Chris McKay revealed what plans Lord and Miller have for the second movie, and why gender is now the film's new focus.

Picking up from where the first film left off, The Lego Movie 2 will expand on the "major" relationship between Finn and his little sister, the Duplo lover.
Explaining the premise of the sequel, McKay explained: "What's different and similar about gender, when a boy plays vs how a girl plays? What kind of stories are there?"

Promising that Lord and Miller are going to offer the same kind of "profound" message as they did in the first, he added: "Chris and Phil are super f**king smart and really thoughtful and sensitive writers...
"I'm really excited about where the movie is gonna go because it's about these things that are actual notions that people have that might even be unconscious biases, where people don't even realise that that's the way they're looking at the world," he added.
"It's gonna be a really special movie."
Looks like those "creative differences" over at the Han Solo spin-off worked out for the best, then.
The LEGO Movie Sequel is expected to hit cinemas on February 8, 2019.
