The Lego Movie directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller have addressed a fan theory suggesting a link between their movie and Barbie.
The idea doing the rounds on social media suggests that Will Ferrell's CEO of Mattel in the new Greta Gerwig hit is actually his same character, President Business, from the 2014 animated hit.
Talking to Digital Spy for the release of Strays, which the pair are producing, Miller responded by suggesting the theory is "absolutely true".

Lord then quipped: "Absolutely 100% true, and we imagined it and designed it from the beginning."
"We knew one day Greta would pick up the mantle and run with it," Miller further joked. "But yeah, I really subscribed to that theory."

During the chat, the duo also spoke about seeing comedies on the big screen, Miller saying: "One of the joys of seeing comedies in the cinema is that you’re surrounded by strangers and it becomes this communal experience where you’re all laughing together.
"It’s a really special thing you can’t get when you’re watching something at home. That’s what makes it an experience. It’s kind of like seeing a horror film and everyone screams at the same time.
"There’s something about the communal experience, feeling emotions with people that you don’t even know that makes you feel like you’re part of the world."

Lord added: "There's also something about comedies that are a bit transgressive, and a little naughty, going back to Animal House.
"Being in the theatre with other people, experiencing things that you are not supposed to do, but you’re all there doing it together, that's really fun."
Strays is released in UK cinemas on August 17 and in US cinemas on August 18.
