The upcoming J. R. R. Tolkien biopic may have found the inspiration for its elven princesses in Okja star Lily Collins.

Collins is circling a deal to join Tolkien as Edith Bratt, the love of the author's life and model for Lord of the Rings' elven princesses Lúthien Tinúviel and Arwen Evenstar (via The Hollywood Reporter).

Arwen was famously brought to life by Liv Tyler in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy from director Sir Peter Jackson, who is not involved in the Tolkien biopic.

If Collins does sign on for Tolkien, she'll be starring opposite X-Men actor Nicholas Hoult — who landed the coveted title role back in July.

She's most recently been seen in two polarising Netflix projects, the science fiction creature feature Okja and the anorexia drama To the Bone.

Tolkien is a coming-of-age story set in the would-be fantasy fiction icon's formative years, when World War I threatened to break apart the tight-knit group of fellow outcasts he'd formed.

The writing team of David Gleeson and Stephen Beresford are working on the screenplay for Finnish filmmaker Dome Karukoski (The Home of Dark Butterflies).

There is no release date yet for Karukoski's J. R. R. Tolkien project.
