We've already been introduced to some of the big players of Universal's Dark Universe, but it looks like two new recruits could be on their way.

Angelina Jolie and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson are apparently top of Universal's list to join its latest movie universe.

And, to be honest, we're totally down for it.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal is keen to sign Angelina for Bill Condon's upcoming Bride of Frankenstein, which has already bagged Javier Bardem as Frankenstein's Monster.

Rather than sign up for another Mummy spin-off or reboot, The Rock is reportedly wanted as the lead for the Wolfman movie, which was last immortalised on-screen in 2010.

Earlier this month, Universal offered fans a first look at its brooding version of the MCU and DCEU: the aptly-titled Dark Universe.

Fans were introduced to Tom Cruise and Sofia Boutella, who star in The Mummy, Russell Crowe of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Johnny Depp, the next Invisible Man, and Bardem.

The key character tying all of these movies together is Crowe's Dr Henry Jekyll, who makes his first appearance in The Mummy as he tracks down loose monsters for the shady Prodigium organisation.

First up in the Dark Universe is The Mummy, which will be released on June 9, 2017 in the UK and the US. Bride of Frankenstein is romantically scheduled for February 14, 2019.
