The LEGO Movie sequel has a new master builder.

Variety reports that Trolls director Mike Mitchell has signed on to direct the sequel to the animated hit, which is set to be released on February 8, 2019.

He replaces Rob Schrab, who left the project due to creative differences. The sequel is being produced by The LEGO Movie directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, along with Dan Lin and Roy Lee.

Lord and Miller wrote the first draft, with subsequent rewrites done by BoJack Horseman creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg and Matt Fogel.

As well as Trolls, Mitchell has directed the likes of Shrek Forever After, Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked and Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo. So, perhaps not the best track record, but we've got faith in Lord and Miller.

After all, The LEGO Batman Movie turned out pretty well. We reckon it went far enough to even fix the entire DC Extended Universe.
