It's coming up to a year since Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was released, but it turns out we're not quite done with discovering the Easter eggs and cameos that were hidden as standard throughout the film.

For, like Alfred Hitchcock and M Night Shyamalan before him, Snyder couldn't help but sneak himself into his own movie – although it's not very likely that you spotted him.

The film's cinematographer revealed that when Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) is seen handling his phone in the fight club in the early part of the film, we are shown Snyder's hands, not Affleck's.

It turns out that Snyder was very hands-on during the shooting of the DC Comics superhero movie, having also held the light that stood in for the Batmobile's headlights as they shone on Superman during his first confrontation with Batman.

The film's main cameos – apart from Snyder's digits, that is – were mainly journalists and reporters playing themselves – Anderson Cooper, Charlie Rose, Soledad O'Brien – and the heroes who will be joining Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot in the Justice League – Ezra Miller (the Flash), Jason Momoa (Aquaman) and Ray Fisher (Cyborg).

Snyder will be back this year to introduce those latter characters fully in Justice League, while the next film of Warner Bros' DC series is Patty Jenkins's Wonder Woman.
