These new photos of Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa suggest she's almost certainly going to be the best thing about the Power Rangers movie.
An evil witch intent on becoming Queen of The Galaxy (as you do), Rita's apparently back after 10,000 years' banishment. And according to the #RepulsaTakesOver hashtag on the @ThePowerRangers twitter feed, she's just getting used to modern life again.
These two new pics of Elizabeth Banks in character give us a better look at the suit and make-up as well as a first glance at her iconic staff, which she uses to expand her monsters and minions to enormous sizes.
And we can be confident Rita has plans to mobilise her monsters based on some of the tweets she's been sending out, including this one to Amazon asking what they recommend to "help make a monster grow".
The first teaser trailer for the reboot of the '90s show arrived ahead of New York Comic-Con in October, and it came with a Chronicle vibe.
We see slightly troubled teens Zack, Kimberly, Billy, Trini, and Jason negotiating high school and moaning about their sucky lives before finding 'Power Coins' and becoming the Power Rangers, who must unite to defeat the dastardly Rita Repulsa before she fulfils her mission to destroy them and take over the Galaxy.
What to Read Next
This sexy, slinky get-up is quiet a new look for Rita, and Elizabeth Banks is also the first white woman to play the character, which prompted a bit of backlash when the casting was announced.
That Rita aspires to smell like Coyote Urine is also a new take – though the fans haven't express a strong opinion either way on that yet.
Power Rangers opens in UK cinemas on March 24, 2017.
