Orlando Bloom has been Instagramming again, but this time it's not his sex tape.

Nope, Orlando has shared a nostalgic photo of himself with (most of) the rest of the main The Lord of the Rings cast, and they've all got matching tattoos.

From left to right we've got: Billy Boyd (Pippin), Sean Astin (Sam), Dominic Monaghan (Merry), Orlando himself (Legolas), Ian McKellen (Gandalf), Elijah Wood (Frodo) and Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn).

The tattoo was the word 'nine', written in Tolkein's Elvish language. Why nine? Because there were nine members of the Fellowship of the Ring who set out from Rivendell in, well, The Fellowship of the Ring.

And yes, we know there's only seven people here. The other two Fellowshippers are Sean Bean (Boromir) and John Rhys-Davies (Gimli), although it was Rhys-Davies' stunt double who got the tattoo instead.

Of course the Fellowship could have looked very different had various actors and actresses not turned the trilogy down. If you've ever wanted to see Nicolas Cage as Aragorn, we've made a handy mock-up for your viewing pleasure right here - just don't say we didn't warn you.

If you're like us and fancy going on a nostalgia tour of Middle Earth over the next few months then there's a 30 disc Blu-ray collection out that will probably take forever to get through.

Here's the opening to get you started:
