Renowned concept artist Robert McKinnon has revealed some cool early designs for Wonder Woman's sword and Aquaman's trident on his website.
The artwork shows 24(!) different versions of the sword with varying finishes and flourishes.
The design they opted for in Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice (where Wonder Woman makes her debut in the rebooted DC movies universe) has a relatively plain and sturdy look.
On McKinnon's site, you can also see alternative designs of Aquaman's trident.
Again, from the Aquaman promo shots it looks like they finally opted for something more simple and fluid in the end.
McKinnon is that slight rare best, a visual artist who works widely across the DC *and* Marvel Universes, having produced concept art for Iron Man 3 and Captain America: The Winter Soldier as well as the upcoming Justice League.

Excitingly he's also worked on concept art for 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, a project which has been in development for some years.
Various directors had been attached including McG and David Fincher, and it was looking like the film was going to stall. But in February James Mangold, who made The Wolverine, was signed up.
McKinnon is one of a number of concept artists attached to the film and it's likely his designs were done for a previous incarnation (or we can't imagine he'd be allowed to publish them), but it's interesting to see the direction they were headed in for Jules Verne's classic giant squid story.
Check out Robert's site for all these designs and more.
