It's well established that UK movie fans are lucky enough to get Marvel Studios films (and, frequently, other Hollywood blockbusters) earlier than in the US.

And so it was with Doctor Strange – but Marvel has revealed that we will be getting Benedict Cumberbatch's magical movie even earlier than we expected.

The Scott Derrickson-directed tale of the MCU's mystical protector, the Sorcerer Supreme, was originally scheduled to arrive in the UK on October 28.

So with it now coming out here on October 25, you'll have three extra days (nine in all) to feel smug about getting the movie early before it arrives in the US on November 4.

The film centres around the origin of Doctor Stephen Strange, a proud surgeon whose hands are irreparably damaged in a car accident, ending his career.

On a quest to heal his hands, he ends up becoming the newest pupil of a wizard called the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton), just in time to be caught up in a plot by the corrupted sorcerer Kaecilius (Mads Mikkelsen).
