It's fair to say that Deadpool did rather well at the box office, shattering box office records and raking in over $754 million since its release back in February.
While Ryan Reynolds and director Tim Miller were already set to return in a sequel, we now have a couple more details on when things will be getting underway for Deadpool 2.
Speaking to Collider ahead of the Saturn Awards in California, the film's producer, Simon Kinberg, hinted that things could be kicking off early in 2017.
"The guys, [screenwriters Paul] Wernick and Rhett [Reese], are working on the script, and we hope to have the script very soon.
"We hope to shoot the movie some time at the beginning of next year."
A post-credits scene from the February release has already hinted the follow-up could be based around the introduction of Cable, the time-travelling son of X-Men member Cyclops.
The film does not yet have a release date, but if you're looking for a quick Deadpool fix, the Merc with a mouth recently popped up in a trailer for X-Men in Japan, because of course he did.
