Game Of Thrones meets Doctor Who via The Hunger Games in new romance Me Before You, where Emilia Clarke stars alongside Jenna Coleman as a young woman in a small town who falls in love with a recently paralysed man played by Sam Claflin.
Talking about the role exclusively with Digital Spy, she said: "I knew as soon as I read the first pages of the book that it was something I wanted to do."
She also admitted that her character Lou is higher energy than Game of Thrones' mother of dragons Daenerys - and that was part of the appeal for her.
Jenna Colman plays her sister Trina, and Clarke said the two got on famously - "so much of filming was like a sleepaway camp!"
Director Thea Sharrock also praised the chemistry between Clarke and Claflin.
The two were among five girls and five boys who all read for the parts with each other, and she reckons the two just clicked. Swoon!
What to Read Next
Clarke can be seen in season 6 of Game Of Thrones. Next up for Sam Claflin is comedy Their Finest Hour And A Half opposite Gemma Arterton, with An Education's Lone Scherfig in the director's chair.
