Star Trek: Beyond will boldly go where no film has gone before by making its world premiere at Comic Con.
The third part of the Star Trek franchise will be premiere at the San Diego Comic Con on July 20 as part of a special open-air IMAX showing.
The cast of the new film will make and appearance at the event, which is to be held at the Embarcadero Marina Park South . It will also feature a live performance of Michael Giacchino's score from the San Diego Symphony Orchestra.
Justin Lin, the director of Star Trek: Beyond said in a statement: "I am thrilled to celebrate the premiere of the film together with the fans at Comic-Con and excited for everyone there to experience Michael Giacchino's incredible score played live."
Further details about the chance to get tickets to the event will be released later this summer.
Star Trek: Beyond will feature the return of cast members including Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoë Saldana and Simon Pegg. Newcomer Idris Elba will make his debut in the franchise as the film's villain Krall.
