Almost every role Alexander Skarsgard's played has required him to buff up - and Tarzan is certainly no exception.

So, you could forgive the guy for wanting to just let it all hang out and damn well have his cake and eat it.

Which is what he very clearly wants to do now filming has finally wrapped for the summer blockbuster The Legend of Tarzan.

After a sneak-peak-footage screening of the movie in London this morning, director David Yates confirmed that there were already early talks for a sequel, with a script and story in place.

And Skarsgard was quick to jump in, joking: "In this one Tarzan eats cake. There's no action. Tarzan eats whatever. I actually wrote it."

During the Q&A with Yates, Skarsgard and Margot Robbie (who plays Jane), the actor revealed that the entire shoot lasted an epic eight months. That's a whole lot of time in the gym.

"We shot the movie over eight months then we went back for three days, six or seven months after that, so I had to go on the diet."

He joked: "That's where we recorded the yell. 'Noo! No more chicken breasts!' It was very authentic."

The Legend of Tarzan is released on July 8.
