Even though it's a story focusing on Captain America, you'd be forgiven for assuming that Civil War is more of an Avengers 3, what with all the millions of superhero characters featured.

OK, not millions, but lots.

In no particular order, the list of Marvel figures you'll see in this month's Civil War are (*deep breath*):

Cap, Iron Man, Falcon, Ant-Man, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Black Widow, Black Panther, Bucky Barnes, Spider-Man and War Machine.

But the movie can only run so long, and the film's screenwriters Christopher Markus and Marcus McFeely have told Collider about one that didn't make the cut.

Who's missing off this list that we're buzzing about? Wasp of course!

We saw the beginnings of the heroine, played by Lost's Evangeline Lilly, alongside Paul Rudd in last year's Ant-Man.

"Almost everybody made it in," Markus told the website.

"There was a period where we talked about bringing Wasp in. There was actually a draft Wasp in.

"She was so almost on the edge of being in Ant-ManBut you're taking something awesome out of the Ant-Man team's quiver if it's like, 'Well, we're doing her!'

"Plus she had a similar skill set, so it's like, 'Well, maybe we just isolate it to Scott'."

McFeely added: "When you see the movie, you see that Scott is his own comic relief so it would change that a little bit.

"They would be this pair. Everybody else would talk about them and then they'd go away, but we got most everybody back."

It's worth noting that there's no sign of Thor and Loki, other Marvel regulars, but they'll be back in Ragnarok next year.

And fans of Wasp need not worry, as she is confirmed for two more Marvel films, including Ant-Man and the Wasp in 2018.

Captain America: Civil War is released on April 29.
