It's a common occurrence to be treated to a movie's deleted scenes in the age of the DVD, but they don't usually get us as excited as the one from Thor: The Dark Age, which showed Loki wielding the hammer Mjolnir before the adoring crowds of Asgard.

OK, so it was all a daydream, but it was still awesome.

So when we caught up with Tom Hiddleston about his new film High-Rise, we couldn't help but ask him about it.

The actor said that it was intended as a reflection of Thor receiving the hammer at the beginning of the first film. It was also inspired by the similar cheers he received when he turned up at Comic-Con in full Loki armour.

Sadly, he wouldn't let slip exactly why it didn't make the final cut, but now we've got it we're never going to let it go. King Loki forever!

High-Rise arrives in UK cinemas today (March 18).
