Steven Spielberg's much-anticipated Ready Player One finally has its frontman: Tye Sheridan.
After a lengthy search, the 19-year-old will play the lead role in the adaptation of Ernest Cline's 2011 retro-futuristic sci-fi novel, Deadline reports.
What to Read Next
Sheridan will star as Wade, a teenage gamer on a major treasure hunt through a virtual world called Oasis, which is filled with references to '70s and '80s pop culture.
Olivia Cooke (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl) and Ben Mendelsohn (Animal Kingdom) are already attached to the movie.
Zak Penn, who co-wrote the script for X-Men: The Last Stand and contributed to the story for The Avengers, has adapted the novel for the screen alongside Cline.
Sheridan's short career has seen him star in Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life, Jeff Nichols' Mud and Bryan Singer's upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse.
Ready Player One is set to hit cinemas on March 30, 2018.
