Warning: This article contains spoilers for Ready Player One.
Ready Player One isn't a straightforward adaptation of the cult novel it's based on, and it certainly differs in one massive way.
The second test in the movie version actually takes place within a classic horror movie which ends up being one of the stand-out sequences, but just in case you haven't seen it, don't read past the trailer.
So the movie sees Wade (Tye Sheridan), Art3mis (Olivia Cooke) and more head into the world of classic Stanley Kubrick horror The Shining to find the Jade Key, taking in several locations from the movie.
And it turns out that some of the original shots from The Shining made their way into Ready Player One, as revealed in Gina McIntyre's book The Art of Ready Player One (via Gizmodo).
The sequence saw ILM use a "high-quality telecine transfer" of the original movie to digitally recreate the locations.

"The bar that I wanted to reach was for anyone to watch it and go, 'That's a shot from The Shining'," explained senior visual effects supervisor Roger Guyett.
"It just happens to have our characters in it. Of course, if you're inventing new scenes within The Shining or new moments or new characters, then the camerawork has to [change]. We didn't have enough coverage of the different scenes."
McIntyre added that when any scene involved a real actor, like THOSE twins, it was combined with the original footage, as well as a few new physical shots – creating a perfect blend of old and new.
Ready Player One is in cinemas now. The Art of Ready Player One is also available to buy now.
