It's clear when you watch Deadpool that there was lots of improvisation and comic riffing on set. But there have been conflicting reports in the last couple of days about how much of the excess shooting we're likely to see.
Now star Ryan Reynolds, talking to BBC Radio 1, suggests that there could be essentially a Deadpool 1.5.
"I can actually tell you right now there will be," said Reynolds when asked about an alternate version. "There's too much footage - too much stuff that we love, and we had to make choices, and that's just the nature of the beast. But yeah, we have enough for a few sequels, probably!"
You can listen to the interview at 11:58 in Movies with Ali Plumb.
Giving a slightly different account, Reynolds' director Tim Miller said recently: "I don't want to be all Joss Whedon on you, but no there's not [a director's cut]. There are some deleted scenes that have some extra stuff, but I'm pretty happy with this cut. I like it." That said, Miller promised significant deleted scenes.
Possibly Reynolds is more up-to-date - and following that stellar opening weekend, you might expect the studio to release as many versions as possible.

Reynolds' co-star TJ Miller (no relation to Tim, apparently) also seemed to think there would be another version last month. "[T]he idea that when you see the full director's cut of it, that that's going to be even more raw, that's pretty heavy duty," he said.
So it's two to one in favour of a Deadpool 1.5. What do you think? Do you want to see another cut?
