Zack Snyder's Man of Steel left many fans upset with its blithe mass destruction and neck-snapping ways, and from the trailers for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice it looked like some of those issues might be addressed in the follow-up.
Step forward star Henry Cavill to assure everyone that any apparent reaction to such criticism is purely incidental.
"The reception of my first Superman movie, from what I've read, was fairly mixed," the Man from UNCLE actor told Cineplex.
"Everyone I've spoken to enjoyed the movie, but [not] unlike if you're going to meet a stranger in the street, they're not going to badmouth you to your face.
"There's no intentional move, I don't think, in Batman v Superman to address any issues that people had with Man of Steel. It's just a continuation of that storyline and they continue to develop that world and introduce new characters."
Man of Steel was criticised for Superman's lack of concern over the mass destruction (and, presumably, slaughter) caused by his battle in Metropolis, and his willingness to kill General Zod.
