Sarah Michelle Gellar has shared an update on the upcoming I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel, revealing she has visited the set.
The legacy sequel to the 1997 slasher classic is currently in the works, with Freddie Prinze Jr returning to the role of Ray Bronson.
Gellar, who previously confirmed she won't be back given her character Helen Shivers is dead, has now shared a series of Instagram posts confirming she has been supporting the movie and real-life husband Prinze Jr behind the scenes.

Director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson then reposted her Story, quipping: "Before you DM me, she refuses to not be dead."
Gellar previously addressed a potential return for the sequel, noting to People that her character is "dead" – though did tease that she has an "unofficial job" on set.

"My best friend [Jennifer Kaytin Robinson] is directing it, so we joke that I have an unofficial job, which is I am continuity," she added.
"So I'm always the one telling her, 'Well, that would happen, or that wouldn't happen with those characters', so I do have kind of an unofficial job title."
Meanwhile, original star Jennifer Love Hewitt has teased a potential comeback as Julie James, confirming in a recent interview that she is "so close" to signing on – though is dealing with scheduling issues with her show 9-1-1.

"I feel like the actual audience now is like, 'What are you waiting for, huh?'" she told Parade. "It's such a delicate thing, because we're trying to deal with the 9-1-1 schedule and the movie schedule, so we're just trying to figure it out and make it happen."
Hewitt added: "If I'm going to come back 27 years later, I don't want to just be in it for five seconds. I don't want it to just be like that thing that's like, 'Oh, well, there's the ghost of I Know What You Did past, here she is'.
"So I want to be able to carve out time to really be in it for people and to have it matter. So we're working on it. We're so close. The announcement will be so exciting when it happens, for me as well, and I'm hoping it's soon."
The I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot will be released on July 18, 2025.
