Michael Keaton has admitted he wasn't really bothered when Batgirl was cancelled.
The iconic actor was set to reprise his role as Batman in the first live-action Batgirl movie, which starred Leslie Grace as the lead. The impressive cast included Brendan Fraser as villain Firefly and JK Simmons as Batgirl's father, Jim Gordon.
Filming for the movie began in 2021, and Batgirl was officially in the post-production stages when Warner Bros shockingly axed it. Many of the cast members were disappointed to hear the news, but Keaton claims he wasn't one of them.

"No, I didn't care one way or another," he told GQ. "Big, fun, nice check," he explained, rubbing his fingers together to gesture money.
However, Keaton sympathised with Batgirl directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah after the cancellation. "I like those boys. They're nice guys," he said.
"I pull for them. I want them to succeed, and I think they felt very badly, and that made me feel bad." Reiterating his stance, he added: "Me? I'm good."
Despite his indifference to Batgirl's cancellation, the star is "proud" of his iconic Batman role, which he originally played in 1989. "I'm nothing but only respectful and grateful, 100%," he said.

Meanwhile, reprising another legendary role, Keaton will be back to haunt our screens in the upcoming Beetlejuice sequel.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will see the titular character reunited with Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder), as the latter tries to save her teenage daughter Astrid (Jenna Ortega). The Tim Burton movie will feature Catherine O'Hara, Monica Bellucci, Burn Gorman, Danny DeVito, Arthur Conti and Willem Dafoe.
Describing his creepy character, Keaton explained: "He's a thing. He's more of a thing than a he or a she – he's more of an it. And I'm not saying 'it' to be politically correct. I just viewed it as a force more than anything.
"I mean, there's definitely strong male energy, like stupid male energy, which I love," he added.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is in cinemas on September 6.
