Matt Damon is back in the heist movie genre with The Instigators, which is now available to watch on Apple TV+.
Also starring Casey Affleck and The Menu star Hong Chau, the movie follows a desperate father and an ex-con who plan to steal money from a corrupt politician. However, the heist doesn't go as planned, and they see themselves pursued both by police and a handful of vengeful crime bosses.
Inside Out 2 star Paul Walter Hauser, Mission: Impossible's Ving Rhames, Alfred Molina, Michael Stuhlbarg, Toby Jones, Jack Harlow and Ron Perlman complete the cast.

The Instigators is directed by Doug Liman, who is reuniting with Matt Damon over two decades after The Bourne Identity.
With this movie, Damon also marks a new collaboration with Ben Affleck, who is producing the movie. It's the latest in a long-standing partnership (and friendship) between the two Hollywood stars, which included their Oscar-winning script for Good Will Hunting and recent movies like Air.
Damon is experienced in the heist movie genre after his celebrated role as Linus Caldwell in the Ocean's trilogy, alongside George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts.
It seems like this new movie won't be as beloved as Steven Soderbergh's classic, though, as The Instigators has landed a disappointing Rotten Tomatoes rating of 43% (from 82 reviews).
